About Paolo and Geotechnical Engineering
I’m Paolo, the owner of Geotechnical Engineering, and a chartered civil engineer with more than 20 years of experience in this industry. Additionally, I also hold membership British Geotechnical Association. Recently, I have worked on the following projects on behalf of a client specialized in the field of remediation and improvement of the soils:
1. The calculation of the capping for pavement related to a pipe storage yard in Warboys, Cambridge.
2. Settlement analysis of the foundation pads and slab, temporary works design, dewatering design, and a stability analysis of the excavation related to the different departments of the new energy from the waste plant at Parc Adfer, Cheshire.
3. Settlement analysis of foundation slab and pads related to the new warehouse units with carparking at Easleas Road in Bury St Edmunds.
4. Study of the improvement of the geotechnical characteristics of the soil by rapid dynamic compaction, specification and interpretation of the situ tests, and calculation of the total settlement, allowable bearing capacity, and hydraulic failures of a raft foundation related to the Hoe Valley School, Woking.
5. Design pile mat for piling rig and mobile cranes, specification and interpretation of the situ tests, temporary works design, study of the improvement of the geotechnical characteristics of the soil by rapid dynamic compaction, and calculations of the total settlement and allowable bearing capacity of a foundation raft for the tipping hall at the Sustainable Energy Plant, Kemsley Paper Mill, Sittingbourne, Kent.
6. Study of the improvement of the geotechnical characteristics of the soil by rapid dynamic compaction, specification and interpretation of the situ tests, calculations of the allowable bearing capacity, and settlement of the foundations of a new steel portal frame commercial unit at Upwell Street in Sheffield.
